About this eventThe Rotary Club of Simi Valley is honored to partner with the Simi Valley Police Department Communications Center (911 Dispatchers) to host Ventura County’s Dispatcher of the Year Appreciation Event (2025/26). Each year, one Ventura County agency is “voluntold” to host this event. Because the event is complex and hosting departments vary in size, it often struggles to come together — and in some years, it does not happen at all. Rotary is stepping in so our hidden heroes are honored every year. What Rotary is doing: We are building a repeatable event framework (templates, timeline, sponsorship structure, budgeting, and best practices) to hand off to the Rotary club(s) local to next year’s host agency — creating continuity and making this appreciation event achievable annually. Transparent stewardship: Rotary will manage event income and expenses through the club, and after the event all profits will go directly back to the host agency’s Communications Center by purchasing items from their official dispatch needs list.

Every month, Children's Hospital Los Angeles needs approximately 2,000 units of blood to care for children facing cancer, surgeries, trauma, and other life-threatening illnesses.
